Few fans of fast food chains have proven as loyal as McDonald’s lovers who adore the legendary and rare McRib sandwich.
Elusive and never on the menu for long, the latest year-long stretch without the beloved sandwich is over – the McRib is officially back and more available then ever.
This cult classic sandwich is returning to 10,000 McDonald’s restaurants across the United States on October 7 in one of it’s biggest rollouts to date.
This is up from 9,000 locations during the October 2018 comeback that ended in November last year.

McRib enthusiasts have been begging for the on-again, off-again menu item to become a permanent option in stores nationwide, but that’s not too likely, according to the company.
DDB Chicago CEO Peter McGuinness told Business Insider: ‘It’s not a mass play year-round.’
The McRib is more so: ‘a great piece of buzzy news that surprises and delights, late in the year on the marketing calendar.’

Besides, the thrill of the chase is part of the appeal and make this new announcement all the more exciting.
Created in 1981, the scarcity of the McRib has caused fans to meticulously track the sandwich across the globe.
Whispers of McRib sightings began popping up recently on the McRib Locator, an entire website dedicated to tracking the elusive sandwich, earlier this week in Michigan.
According to the website, the most recent McRib was seen in Kennesaw, Georgia, Thursday at 2.12pm.
Sightings have also been reported in Ukraine and Guatemala.
Alan Klein, the website’s founder, told Entrepreneur Magazine in 2013 he created it because he ‘nearly drove four hours last year to get one.’
‘If the McRib were to return to a more sporadic availability, I certainly could see myself taking a longer trip to find one,’ he said.
Even the McDonald’s corporation has helped spur the fun by creating the McFinder, an online search engine that will find the closest McRib seller by zip codes.
Unsurprisingly, McRib lovers are very excited.
Fans of the McRib took to Twitter (pictured) to share their excitement about the sandwich’s arrival next week
One man said: ‘I will buy a flamethrower for Ukraine if they can make the McRib a permanent menu item’
One man sent out a reminder, saying: ‘Ladies and gentlemen this is not a drill. The McRib is back. I repeat, the McRib is back!’
Another said: ‘I will buy a flamethrower for Ukraine if they can make the McRib a permanent menu item. I will also throw in 5 grenades for a year-round Shamrock Shake and whatnot.’
A user who got an email from McDonald’s announcing the comeback shared the letter on Twitter and thanked the company.
‘Go ahead, make fun of my McRib obsession all you want. You’re the best

In this latest McRib venture, Business Insider reports McDonald’s has created Instagram Story GIFS, found under the #McRibSZN, to welcome the sandwich.
The price of the McRib will vary by state, but Chewboom reports that the sandwich can be purchased in the two for $6 promotion in certain locations or for $3.69 for single sandwich.
A full meal with fries and a drink will cost around $5.90.
As ever, it is unclear when the McRib promotion will end.
