A mother-of-two stunned her high school sweetheart-turned-husband with her stunning new look after receiving a head-to-toe ambush makeover.
Katie Shuler, 37, from Knoxville, Tennessee, was visiting the Today show plaza with her husband, Travis, and their children, Sally and Tate, on Thursday morning when celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari and Today lifestyle correspondent Jill Martin handpicked her from the crowd.
Before her makeover, Katie explained that she and Travis started dating in high school and have been together for a long time, so it would be nice to be able to surprise him with a stylish transformation.

Throwback: The mother-of-two explained that she and her husband, Travis, had started dating in high school and have been together for a long time
The couple traveled to the Big Apple so their children could visit the city for the first time and experience everything they see on TV.
‘Being a mom is the best thing in the world. It’s something I always wanted to do, and I feel very blessed that I get to do that,’ Katie said.
‘A day of pampering would be awesome,’ she added. ‘We are normally on the go with kids … it’s hard to give myself a little time. I’m very nervous right now but super excited.’
With the help of the Today show’s glam squad, Katie went from wearing a baggie sweatshirt to a floral halter dress.
The mom had a bright smile when she strutted on stage to debut her new look, and it’s safe to say her family was impressed.

Sally’s jaw dropped when she saw her mom’s transformation, while Tate told her: ‘You look really different.’
Katie was ecstatic when she looked into the mirror and saw what her family was seeing for the first time.
‘Maryann Campo gave her this great haircut,’ Louis said, explaining that she could wear it curly or straight. ‘Today, we opted for straight.’
‘What I did is I broke up her highlights, which were very solid, and made it much more honey gold, which is a little more contemporary,’ he added.

Tammy actually visited the Today plaza a couple of years ago but wasn’t chosen for an ambush makeover. She said she spent two years planning her sign to get Louis and Jill’s attention, admitting she stayed up past midnight making it the night before.
‘I’m so excited,’ she said of finally being chosen.
After getting primped and pampered, Tammy stepped on stage rocking stylish mixed pints and a sleek new ‘do.

‘I think they like it,’ joked Today host Willie Geist.
Louis explained that Tammy’s hair was ‘over layered and a little long,’ so Maryann cut her hair into a chin-length bob.
‘I softened her roots and added more contrast,’ he said of her color, which was a ‘bit solid’ before he added different shades of blonde.
The leopard-print blazer and zebra-print heels Jill picked out for Tammy were perfect for a night on the town with her friends.
