A schoolboy has been stabbed to death outside a McDonald’s restaurant in east London.

Eyewitnesses claimed that two teenagers were attacked in front of shocked onlookers today, with one of the pair receiving fatal stab wounds. 

London Ambulance Service confirmed that a second teenager had been rushed to a major trauma centre with serious injuries.

Several police cars were seen outside the Stratford Centre this afternoon, with police tape surrounding the restaurant.

The assault occurred outside Stratford Broadway at 3.20pm, while the teenager was pronounced dead at 3.49pm.

Newham MPS tweeted: ‘Detectives are investigating after a male teenager was fatally stabbed outside Stratford Broadway at 1520hrs today. Crime scene remains in place. Section 60 now in place.

‘Anyone with information to call police on 101 quoting reference 4644/10Oct or Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.’

The Stratford Centre added: ‘The Centre is currently closed due to an incident and will remain closed until further notice.’
