Arnold Schwarzenegger says he feels 50 rather than 72 and reveals he did many of his own stunts in Terminator: Dark Fate

He is reprising his iconic role in the latest explosive chapter in the Terminator franchise, 28 years on from Judgment Day.

And Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed he will never let age slow him down and he feels 50 rather than 72 as he promoted Terminator: Dark Fate on Monday’s episode of This Morning.

Speaking with Alison Hammond, the legendary actor also revealed he did many of the stunts in the new film, with the storyline bringing him to tears.

He said: ‘I feel maybe like I’m 50 years old now. Not like I’m 72. I did a lot of the stunts and the kicking and the fighting and I didn’t run out of energy.’

When asked if he still had the old Terminator costumes from the 1984 and 1991 films, he said: ‘The waistline was a little tighter. I had to let the waistline out by about two inches and that really p***ed me off, I’ll tell you.’

Terminator Dark Fate sees the long-awaited reunion of Arnie with Linda Hamilton, who played protagonist Sarah Connor in the first two films.

Discussing Linda’s appearance in Terminator 2, he said: ‘That was the first time any woman was seen that muscular. She was kind of like the female Rambo.’   

He continued: ‘Terminator will be very surprising to people because it’s not just a great story, Linda Hamilton is back. It’s not just a big action movie. 

‘I had tears coming down my eyes when I watched it. The only other time that happened was Terminator 2.’

In Dark Fate , which opens in theatres on November 1, Natalia Reyes plays Danielle Ramos, a young woman targeted for termination by the new advanced Terminator prototype Rev-9 – who Sarah Connor seeks to protect.  

Mackenzie Davies, plays a cyborg from the future who also wants to protect Dani, and Diego Boneta, plays Dani’s older brother Miguel.  

Edward Furlong, who played John Connor in the 1991 film, is also slated to reprise his role.
