Stosur has only made the second round in the Australian Open since 2014 where she powered her way into the third.
‘That was a match I’ll remember forever, it was probably one of the best singles matches I’ve played in a very long time,’ she told Nine News after the round.
‘It has been the goal coming into the last couple of months playing singles, to enjoy myself.
‘Try and play as best as I can. Every time I have been able to do that in my career I enjoyed it. Win or lose, that’s all you can ask for.’
