Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s long-awaited Nintendo Switch Graphics and Performance Update is now live and focuses on four areas of improvement; Input Lag, Visual Quality, Crashes, and Load Times. The version 1.03 update that brings all these improvements was detailed on Bloodstained’s forums and is in response to the serious frame rate and optimization problems that appear on Switch, but not on the other platforms. As for the updates, “input lag has been eliminated throughout the game” and the controls should be “more responsive.” Visual quality has also “been improved so things look more clear and have more detail.”

Overall stability has been improved and several situations that have previously caused crashing, “most notably when reading books from a bookcase,” have been addressed.

Lastly, certain loading times have been reduced by up to 70%, but it is noted that there are still areas that need improvement.

Throughout this update, it is made clear that while many issues have been addressed, they will continue to work to make the experience on Switch even better, starting update 1.04 in the future.

All these changes will hopefully bring the Switch version closer to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions, which were all received very well.
