Photographer Andrew Gallery has gone viral on TikTok for reading a letter which he claims Britney wrote regarding her conservatorship.
The singer has not been in complete control of her finances and important life choices since 2008, with conservators including her father James ‘Jamie’ Spears and temporary conservator Jodi Montgomery, who is now in charge of handling her personal affairs until at least August 22, 2020, according to court documents seen by ET.
Gallery previously worked on Britney’s 2008 documentary for MTV, Britney: For the Record.
He begins the first of the five video posts saying: “I’ve been seeing all this stuff about the #FreeBritney movement, and I feel compelled to say something about this now.
“I used to work with Britney back in 2008, ’09 during her comeback.
“In that time, we became close friends; we were on tour together, spent every day together for, you know, a while.
“And in that time, she gave me a letter that she wanted me to read to you guys.”
Gallery claims the original handwritten letter has been destroyed but he made himself a copy which he displays in the videos.
The singer is alleged to have written the letter in the third person and discusses her split from her ex, Kevin Federline, and an interview he gave to People at the time.
Photos of the letters, allegedly by Spears, were published by the Daily Mail last year.
Britney is alleged to have written: “After reading Kevin’s article in People I was amazed at how a lot of the focus was on Britney their mother to sell a story for People magazine, instead of the focus being on Kevin.
“What happened to Britney was a year ago and people need to get with the times.
“And as far as Kevin saying Britney divorced him, she was forced to by her lawyers b/c she went to visit him in N.Y and he wouldn’t see her and the children and her lawyers said if she doesn’t divorce him he’s going to do it himself.
“So Kevin trying to play the innocent victim is hardly irelavent [sic]. He left her and the babies.”
The pop star is also claimed to have addressed her being taken to hospital due to her mental health issues in 2008.
Britney is alleged to have added: “Her behavior when her children got taken away b/c of her locking herself in the bathroom is understandable considering her friend at the door kept telling her the cops are leaving don’t worry stay in the bathroom.
“She was lied to and set up. Her children were taken away and she did spin out of control which any mother would in those circumstances.
“Her next visit took a toll as well she wasn’t listening to her manager – he lost control so he wanted to scare her.”
The star is then claimed to have blasted her family and team around her conservatorship.
The letter continues: “Now this year Britney has been silenced to speak about anything that’s really going on.
“The people controlling her life have made 3 million dollars this year.
“She would love for new eyes to see her situation, but if she brings it up she’s constantly threatened that the conservators will take her kids away.
“So how long does this go on. As long as the people are getting paid and she has no rights it could go on for a while, but it doesn’t make it right at all.”
The letter ended with a plea for Britney to receive fairer treatment.
It concludes: “She’s a very giving person and would love to get the respect she deserves.”
Britney herself has yet to publicly address the ongoing #FreeBritney campaign from some of her fans against her conservatorship but did hit out against her critics on social media on Friday.
She wrote on Instagram : “I get how some people might not like my posts or even understand them, but this is Me being happy ….. this is Me being authentic and as real as it gets !!!!!”
