Charlize Theron enjoys dinner out at Nobu in Malibu with her two daughters Jackson and August

Charlize Theron has been quarantining in Los Angeles with her two adopted daughters Jackson, eight, and August, three, as COVID-19 rages on.

But the 44-year-old actress attempted to change things up for herself and her daughters by enjoying dinner out at Nobu in Malibu on Saturday evening.

Theron rocked her chic blonde pixie cut and hid the majority of her famous face behind a rose print face mask.

Charlize looked incredibly stylish in a black blazer layered over an ankle length slip dress with a plunging neckline.

She had a blue scarf wrapped around her neck and sported a pair of tortoise shell sunglasses.

The Bombshell star accessorized her evening ensemble by fastening a slew of gold chains around her neck and slipping her feet into a pair of trendy platform sneakers.

Eldest daughter Jackson looked undeniably sweet in a red floral patterned dress and a blazer that matched her mother’s.

‘Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,’ said the actress. ‘Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!’

‘So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.

‘They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.’

Charlize explained that her job as a parent is ‘to celebrate’ her daughter and ‘to love them and ‘make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be.

‘My initial reaction when I read the Old Guard graphic novel was that I felt there was something very grounded in Andy. That was the thing that excited me: despite the concept, she felt real, and not ‘fantasy.’

‘So, I tried to bring a genuine exhaustion to her, and not get bogged down in the idea that she’s lived thousands of years, she’s seen it all, and she knows every kind of martial art there is,’ explained the Atomic Blonde actress.

‘So I feel like I’m forever embedded in the action-movie world now because, honestly, those guys are just the best in the industry.’
