At a Beverly Hills fundraiser benefiting Nigerian women and children on Thursday, Charlize Theron, 44, spoke openly about the privilege she experienced growing up White in apartheid-torn South Africa.
But on Sunday, Theron’s acting skills were put to the test at a special screening of her new drama, which is based on the women who took down Fox News’ Roger Ailes.

The Mad Max star wore a black blouse with a pleated burnt orange midi skirt for the screening.
Her blouse was paired with a black and gold belt around her waist with a gold chain that hung on her side.
Theron paired the look with black stilettos and a number of gold and silver earrings.
Her short blonde pixie cut was styled with piecey fringe bangs.

Kelly, who accused Fox News CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment in 2016, made a number of controversial comments during her time on-air.
Most notably, in 2018 Kelly was criticized for comments she made on her show about the appropriateness of blackface during Halloween.
The talk show host defended blackface, saying ‘When I was a kid, that was okay as long as you were dressing up as like a character.’

Theron, on the other hand, is an outspoken activist for African youth.
She founded the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project in 2007 and was named a UN Messenger of Peace in 2008.
Joining her at the screening were her co-stars, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, and Liv Hewson.
In the film, Kidman plays real-life newscaster Gretchen Carlson, while Robbie plays a fictionalized character by the name of Kayla Pospisil.

Also in attendance were Director Jay Roach, Lionsgate Chairman Joe Drake and Damon Wolf, who is the company’s head of worldwide marketing.
Jay Roach, who previously helmed two HBO movies examining political scandals, among other things: 2008’s Recount about the 2000 presidential election, and 2012’s Game Change, about the decision to bring on Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 Presidential election.
Bombshell is slated for theatrical release on December 20 of this year, just in time for awards consideration.
