Culture Kings streetwear owners buy Balinese-style mega mansion on the Gold Coast for 11.75million

The power couple behind streetwear giant Culture Kings are the secret buyers of an $11.75million Balinese-style mega mansion.

Simon and Tahnee Beard bought the six-bedroom, ten-bathroom home overlooking the Nerang River on Queensland’s Gold Coast in May.

The mansion boasts a resort-style swimming pool, tennis court and even a private beach.

The fashion duo founded the company in 2008 and quickly carved an international reputation, attracting a famous customer base including Snoop Dog, Chris Brown and A$AP Rocky.

Selling agent Amir Mian from Amir Prestige Property Agents said the sprawling 2,612m/sq block is surrounded with resort-style tropical gardens, with living there feeling like a permanent holiday.

‘You literally walk in and it’s like you’re on holiday in Bali, Thailand or Fiji,’ he told realestate.com.au.

‘That’s what appealed to this buyer and the others we took through.’

The home features a raised timber boardwalk flanked by palm trees and manicured lawns, lending it an island-feel.

A winding stream leads to an outdoor foyer at the front of the house, which opens into a luxurious living area towered over by 19ft ceilings.

Balinese-style furniture carries the tropical atmosphere inside so the fashion duo and their two children can feel as thought they’re on a permanent vacation, while maintaining a close distance to cafes, restaurants and night life.

‘You have your own oasis but you can step out and you’re part of everything,’ Mr Amir said.

The house is less than ten minutes drive from Surfer’s Paradise beach to the north and the city of the Gold Coast to the west, and 25 minutes from Dreamworld amusement park.

Described as the ‘pinnacle of luxury waterfront living’ in the online listing, the ground floor houses a fully functional gym with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pool and an open-plan kitchen fitted with walnut cabinets and stone benchtops.

A large butler’s pantry with a walk-in cold room perfect for storing wine and beer is hidden at the rear.

Four living and dining areas filled with wicker armchairs, rattan coffee tables and indoor plants bring a sense of the exotic outdoors, indoors.

CULTURE KINGS

The streetwear company was founded  by couple Simon and Tahnee Beard in 2008.

Culture Kings quickly carved out a global reputation for its streetwear, attracting famous customers including Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown and A$AP Rocky.

The company has eight stores across Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Perth.

An Australian DJ plays in each store and a range of arcade-style games, such as claw machines a basketball-inspired shooter challenge, where customers can win collector pieces and not-for sale-items.

Culture Kings is worth an estimated $400million and generated $20million in profit each year.

A wraparound terrace runs around the outside of the house, providing uninterrupted views of the lush garden.

Outside, an ‘al fresco’ kitchen and entertaining area sits in the centre of the garden, perfect for family barbecues.

Upstairs is a large home office which leads onto one of the many outdoor entertaining areas, and a ‘wellness retreat’ with a spacious ensuite bedroom for guests.

The two master bedrooms open onto balconies overlooking the river and the high-rise skyline of Surfer’s Paradise, just a seven minute drive from the estate.

Outside, the private tennis court has its own covered outdoor seating area for spectators which can be used in any weather.

The basement has a bar, rumpus room and a seven-seat cinema theatre, perfect for winter movie nights in with family and friends.

It also has parking space for ten cars and drive-through access to a boat ramp onto the Nerang River, where you can sail or ride jet-skis all year round.

Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson rented a similar two-storey mansion on the Isle of Capri for a reported $20,000 AUD a week while filming adventure epic San Andreas back in 2014.
