Dallas Stars Daily Links: Khudobin to the Rescue

Last night was a classic Dallas Stars win — they were outplayed in the first period, managed to take a one goal lead in the second, and then “turtled” for the entire third period.

But hey, it worked! All thanks to Anton Khudobin:

“We don’t get into overtime without him,” Stars interim coach Rick Bowness said. “He made some huge saves, especially on the penalty kill after we challenged, and so give him a lot of credit tonight. We don’t win it without his play.”

There was a play late in the third period in which Khudobin appeared to injury himself, setting off alarms inside the heads of every Stars’ fan watching, but he says he was fine. He also added that he was confident in backup Jake Oettinger had that not been the case:

“No, I am not injured. I am fine,” Khudobin said. “Even if I would be injured, we still believe in [Jake Oettinger] and he can get the job done. He played really well in the previous game. Yes, he’s young, but at the same time, we believe in him. But I wasn’t injured.”
