Dame Judi Dench channels Cats as she dons an animal face mask for a trip to a wildlife centre

She recently revealed that TikTok has ‘saved her life’ amid the coronavirus crisis.

And Dame Judi Dench was looking fearsome on Friday as she wore a scary wildcat face mask.

The actress, 85, visited an animal centre with her partner David Mills where they donned the unusual coverings.

The James Bond star went to the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey which was founded by David.

He instead opted for a fox face mask as they took a trip to the park which has now opened again to the public.

Dame Judi, who starred in the film Cats last year, said she loved wearing these ‘comfortable and fun’ masks which are made from photos of animals at the BWC.

It comes after the star revealed her unexpected love for the video sharing app TikTok.

The actress has been delighting fans by joining her 22-year-old grandson Sam Williams in a slew of light-hearted videos during lockdown.

Speaking to Channel 4 News about her new social media prowess, she said: ‘It saved my life.’

She elaborated: ‘It’s just that every day is so uncharted. You wake up and you wonder what day it is and then you wonder what date it is and sometimes what month.

‘And then you think, “Well what do I do today?” And if the prospect is, “Well, what is there to do today?”‘

The Oscar winner went on to add that she does not think theatres will be able to open anytime soon as the pandemic continues.

She said: ‘It’s a desperate feeling. Will they ever open again? I don’t know.

‘Certainly, I’m sure not in my lifetime. I can’t see how it’s going to recover… I’m not saying it should be more prioritised than anything else but it just is going to be a very serious affect on all of us.’

During lockdown Judi initially began appearing virtually in Sam’s choreographed TikTok dances from their individual homes.

Sam, who has gained a huge following on TikTok over the past three months thanks to his team-ups with his famous grandmother, reunited with Judi and roped in his mum, actress Finty Williams, for a family dance.

Keeping their distance, the three took part in the Laxed Siren Beat dance, looking perfectly synchronised.

‘When Bojo let’s you film a family TikTok #fyp #fy #foryou #mother #grandmother #viral #dance,’ Sam captioned the video.

Sam’s videos have gone viral not just for his and Judi’s dance moves but also because many fans have mistaken the red-head for singer Ed Sheeran.
