Danielle Lloyd has opened up about her decision to put her nine-year-old son into therapy following her divorce from his dad.
The glamour model, 36, decided to seek help for Archie after he begun suffering with anxiety when his mum and dad, footballer Jamie O’Hara, split up.
Speaking on Loose Women on Monday, Danielle, who is also mum to Harry, eight, George, six, and Ronnie, two, said speaking to a professional really helped Archie.
Danielle said: “I’d noticed Archie wasn’t able to speak to me properly and I think that was due to me and his dad splitting up, he bottled a lot up.
“I could tell with his behaviour that something wasn’t right.
“As kids you think you can talk to your mum or dad, but there’s some things you actually can’t because you don’t want to upset your mum and you don’t want to upset your dad.
“It’s really hard for them and I think I noticed something wasn’t right.”
Danielle and Jamie married in 2012 and split up just two years later when it emerged he’d cheated on her multiple times.
She believes it had a serious impact on Archie’s wellbeing as he had to sleep with the light on and always worried about her leaving the house.
The mum-of-four continued: “I thought, I’ve got to do something anout this, I can’t let him struggle and let it all build up inside.
“Later on in life I don’t know what might happen. I’ve been there, done that and I didn’t get therapy until later on in life.”
Danielle said the therapy really helped.
She added: “Speaking about his feelings and speaking to someone from the outside really has helped him understand and know that although we’re not together anymore it’s OK because we still both love him.”
