Days of Our Lives' Melissa Reeves receives backlash for 'liking' anti-Black Lives Matter posts

Days of Our Lives star Melissa Reeves, 57, received backlash from fans and castmates on social media Wednesday for ‘liking’ anti-Black Lives Matter posts on Instagram.

It all began Tuesday when a fan shared screenshots of the posts – originally made by Candace Owens – to Twitter and noted how ‘absolutely disgusted and sick’ they felt over Reeves’ presumed stance.

‘I am no longer in any denial about how @missyreeves4 feels. Take a look at a couple of disgusting and racist Instagram posts she liked,’ wrote the enraged fan.

As of Thursday morning, Reeves had not addressed the online backlash.

Outraged fans also went on to tag a slew of Reeves’ Days Of Our Lives co-stars in their tweets.

The posts ‘liked’ by Reeves critiqued the Black Lives Matter charity and labeled it as a ‘full-fledged corporation.’

One fan of Melissa’s attempted to reconcile the situation by stating: ‘We all have our own opinions and views! That’s what make the USA the land of the free and home of the brave!’

But Days Of Our Lives star Linsey Godfrey, 31, was having none of it.

‘Nah there is no difference in opinion on racism, homophobia, transphobia xenophobia,’ replied Godfrey.

She added: ‘If you don’t know why liking Candace Owens is bad then go do some research.’

‘Do not expect me to condone [Melissa’s] covert racism because the posts she liked came from a Black woman who gets paid to pander to a racist white audience. She is the only fraud here,’ wrote one enraged Twitter user

Reeves has yet to respond to any of the backlash on any of her active social media accounts.

Melissa plays the role of Jennifer Horton on Days Of Our Lives, which has been on the air since 1965.
