  • Police believe she climbed over the fence at Diamond Bay Reserve for sunrise 
  • Waverley Council said last year it would crack down on people at the spot

A female tourist has fallen to her death from a cliff at a popular selfie spot in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The woman, aged in her 20s, had been at a party at Vaucluse on Saturday night before she and others went to watch the sunrise at Diamond Bay Reserve.

The group are believed to have climbed over fences to sit on a cliff before the woman fell.

‘Emergency services were called to Diamond Bay Reserve after reports a woman had fallen off a cliff,’ NSW Police said in a statement. 

‘Officers from Eastern Suburbs along with NSW Fire and Rescue and NSW Ambulance commenced the search, with Marine Area Command and Polair.

‘Just before 10.30am a body of a woman believed to be aged in her 20s was retrieved.’

A 27-year-old died at the same location last August.

The Waverley Council said last year it would crack down on visitors risking their lives at Diamond Bay for the perfect picture.
