Elyse Knowles has landed herself in hot water with some fans after boasting about her ‘magical week’ on Instagram this Tuesday.  

Fans accused the Myer model, 27, of being ‘insensitive’ after she shared a post about her idyllic getaway to Queensland’s Moreton Island with boyfriend Josh Marker – while making no mention of the deadly coronavirus pandemic. 

‘Magical week watching sunrise to sunset,’ the blonde wrote next to a photo of herself posing in a leopard-print bikini top as she and Josh relaxed on a beach campsite.

It didn’t take long for fans to brand Elyse’s post as ‘insensitive’ and ‘tone deaf’, given the COVID-19 crisis sweeping the globe.  

‘Really? Posting this when people are losing their jobs, we are all self quarantining and trying to stop a virus from spreading?’ one follower raged.

Elsewhere, one disgruntled fan wrote: ‘Everyone should be at home, not adventuring. It’s not the time’. 

Responding to the fan, Elyse wrote: ‘Bit hard to get home when you can’t. No ferry’s available. So go had to stick to the planed ferry [sic].’
