Married At First Sight fans branded Steve Burley, 52, ‘insincere’ after he failed to admit the truth to ‘wife’ Mishel Karen, 48, during Wednesday night’s episode.
After his audition tape was played where he said he was wanting a partner aged ‘mid to late 30s’, Steve was adamant he never asked to be matched with a younger woman.

Others, however, were confused as to why Mishel was working so hard to improve their tumultuous relationship.

The other couples then weighed into the discussion, with fellow groom Michael Goonan asking Steve to describe his type, but he insisted he didn’t have one.
Clearly unsatisfied with his response, a frustrated Mishel implored Steve to be honest with her.
‘Just answer the frickin’ question. It’s not that hard… Just say it,’ she said, before Steve finally relented, claiming he usually dates ‘taller women’.
But Mishel felt like he was lying, and said she knew for a fact that his previous girlfriend was on the shorter side.
‘He doesn’t realise that by not being honest, that actually hurts me more,’ she said, before telling Steve, ‘You’re just not that into me.’
Earlier in the episode, Mishel was shown Steve’s audition tape, where he confessed to wanting to be paired with a woman aged ‘mid to late 30s’.
Just an excuse? A frustrated Mishel implored Steve to be honest with her. He finally relented, claiming he usually dates ‘taller women’
‘I wouldn’t be inspired by [an older woman]… My last date, got there, got to the date. She was sitting at the bar, and I’m walking up towards the bar, she turns around and straight away, I go, “Nuh,” straight away,’ he said, adding that the woman was 49.
A hurt Mishel pointed out to Steve that she’s ’48, nearly 49′, but he insisted he had ‘no issues about it’.
He then denied ever asking to be matched with someone in their 30s, prompting Mishel to ask him to replay the video.
