Father ranks popular fast food burgers from Hungry Jack's to McDonald's

A father who says he spends $12,000 a year on fast food has ranked the most popular takeaway burgers on the market from best to worst – but not everyone agrees with his choices.

Media manager Bruno Bouchet, who lives in Sydney, has become renowned on Instagram for sharing controversial ‘lists’ with his followers, on topics like takeaway coffee, chocolate and Hollywood movies.

And on July 8 he released his latest ‘power rankings’, putting Hungry Jack’s, Red Rooster, Oporto, KFC and McDonald’s burgers to the test.

‘Don’t bother commenting, this isn’t up for discussion,’ he said.

In first place, or the ‘God Tier’, Bruno decided on the Hungry Jack’s Whopper with flame-grilled Australian beef, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles, mayo and tomato sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun.

Second to that was the ‘Royalty Tier’ of burgers, which was tied with three: the Red Rooster Rippa with two chicken strips, Hungry Jack’s cheeseburger and KFC Zinger with a piece of chicken coated in flavouring.

The ‘Adam Sandler Tier’ of mid-range options held the McDonald’s Big Mac, Nando’s Classic and McDonald’s cheeseburger, before he moved onto the ‘Pleb Tier’ with the Oporto Bondi Burger, McDonald’s McChicken and KFC Original Recipe.

Finally, the worst of the bunch – placed in the ‘Cat Vomit Tier’ – was KFC’s Bacon & Cheese and the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder.

Bruno didn’t explain why some of the burgers were unenjoyable but he did try each of the meals as part of the ‘research’, and results were final.

But not everyone was in agreement with the rankings.

‘Hmmm the McDonald’s McChicken is great though!’ Said one woman, despite it being put in the Pleb Tier.

The mayo on a KFC Zinger makes it houso tier mate,’ said another.

A third added: ‘I agree with the Zinger but you didn’t do the Big Mac justice, not happy about that’.
