Laughing with friends and enjoying a leisurely lunch at a Filipino grill in Los Angeles, this is the girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock two years on from the massacre.

Marilou Danley, 64, was in her native home of Manila in the Philippines, when Paddock opened fire on a crowd at a country music festival on October 1, 2017 killing 58 people.

After flying back to the US two days after the mass killing – the deadliest in US history – Danley was arrested by the FBI at LAX airport before being released without charge and then vanishing.

Now DailyMail.com can reveal the mother-of-one is living a life of luxury in Los Angeles’ exclusive Venice Beach neighborhood where she shares a palatial $2.2m home with her daughter Sheila, 44.

Seen in exclusive photos that will infuriate survivors still waiting for compensation – and justice – Danley appeared not to have a care in the world as she chatted with a group of friends outside a restaurant on Sunday.

Along with the visit to Gerry’s Grill – an upmarket eatery that specializes in Filipino dishes – Danley spent her Sunday buying flowers at local grocery store Pavilions and paid an early morning visit to a nearby Catholic church.

She was joined at The Church of St Mark in Venice Beach by her artist daughter Sheila and her granddaughter. Son-in-law Micah Linton, 47, stayed at home.

On Monday, Danley would not come to the door, while Linton declined to comment when approached at the five-bedroom home by DailyMail.com.

Asked if his mother-in-law had anything to say about the 2017 attack that left 58 dead, Linton – a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma – said ‘no’ and stormed inside.

Sheila, who teaches therapeutic art classes from a studio attached to the white-painted Venice property, also declined to speak to DailyMail.com.

Danley has never spoken publicly of her relationship with Paddock, who was 64 years old when he opened fire on a crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival from his vantage point at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

By the time cops closed in on the killer, 58 people were dead and 851 were injured. Paddock killed himself as police battered down the door of his 32nd floor room.

Danley was in the Philippines at the time and told investigators that she had been sent there by Paddock who had presented her with a ticket two weeks before the massacre and, once she arrived, wired her $150,000 telling her to purchase a house there.

Prior to the rampage, she had shared a $450,000 two-bedroom home in Mesquite, Nevada, with the killer and told cops of trips to gun ranges at his side in the months leading up to the attack.

She also revealed how there was ‘no romance’ left in their relationship and said he had become increasingly distant and was ‘unable to perform’ in bed.

The dual Filipino and Australian citizen said she had met Paddock while working as a casino hostess in Reno, Nevada.

Paddock, a frequent gambler, would often chat to her as she worked the tables and over the course of several years, their relationship turned romantic.

In 2015, he persuaded her to stop working and set up home with him in Mesquite, handing her a monthly allowance.

The revelation about Danley's current whereabouts comes as survivors of the Vegas massacre settled a mass lawsuit filed against the Mandalay Bay's owner, MGM Resorts International, this month. MGM officials said they expect to pay up to $800m in compensation to those injured in the attack, with the process due to be completed by the end of 2020

In 2016, Paddock began purchasing guns and Danley said her relationship with him became more 'subservient', telling investigators she was also expected to accompany him to the gun range. Danley, who was previously married to an Arkansas man named Geary Danley, told police that the relationship was ‘very romantic’ in the beginning but soon soured – with Paddock banning her from wearing make-up and perfume because he claimed to be allergic to them.

According to an 81-page police report released in January 2018, ‘hugging and kissing stopped’ and when Danley confronted him, he said he was ‘unable to commit to more affection’.

Danley then told cops that ‘Paddock was no longer able to have an intimate relationship because he was unable to perform’.

The report added: ‘Danley told investigators Paddock was physiologically able to have sex, but the physical act would exhaust him.’

Police later found hundreds of images of child pornography on Paddock’s computers.

She said she stayed at the Mandalay Bay with him a month before the massacre and noted that Paddock kept looking out the window at Las Vegas Village across the Strip from the hotel.

MGM officials said they expect to pay up to $800m in compensation to those injured in the attack, with the process due to be completed by the end of 2020.

In exchange, survivors will end litigation and agree to keep private the exact nature of their individual settlements.

In a statement released after the settlement was announced on October 3, attorney Robert Eglet – who represents some of the victims and their families – described the payout as ‘fair compensation’.

He added: ‘While nothing will be able to bring back the lives lost or undo the horrors so many suffered on that day, this settlement will provide fair compensation for thousands of victims and their families.

‘MGM Resorts is a valued member of the Las Vegas community and this settlement represents good corporate citizenship on their part.

‘We believe that the terms of this settlement represent the best outcome for our clients and will provide the greatest good for those impacted by these events.’
