Gwyneth Paltrow reflected on her relationship with her former husband Chris Martin in a candid essay for British Vogue‘s September issue.
While confessing they ‘never fully settle into being a couple’, the screen star insisted the exes always prioritised their kids Apple, 16, and Moses, 14, as she told the publication: ‘But man, did we love our children’.

‘We were close, though we had never fully settled into being a couple. We just didn’t quite fit together. There was always a bit of unease and unrest. But man, did we love our children’ the Shakespeare in Love actress explained.
Despite their failed relationship, the TV and film star said they had ‘always been good friends’ as they shared common interests.
Gwyneth explained: ‘We laughed at the same things, shared a funny bones humour, impressions, utter silliness. We were moved by the same qualities in music: beautiful chords, innovation, harmonies.
‘Peter Gabriel, Chopin, Sigur Rós – though I listened for pleasure and he like he was studying for an exam.

‘We loved walking to and from Osteria Basilico through the park for pizza, especially on those British summer nights when the sun doesn’t ever seem to set.’
The thespian went on to highlight that maintaining a healthy co-parenting relationship was paramount as she added: ‘We loved road trips to the New Forest or to the seaside. But most of all, we loved our children.’
The media personality has since moved on with producer Brad Falchuk, 49, with the couple tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in the Hamptons in September 2018.
