Holly Willoughby prepares to get glammed up ahead of the NTAs

She’s preparing for the TV industry’s event of the year where she’s nominated for three prizes alongside her TV husband Phillip Schofield.

And Holly Willoughby opted for comfort ahead of the National Television Awards as she arrived at The O2 Arena on Tuesday afternoon.

The presenter, 38, dressed down in a casual grey sweater by Levi’s just hours before her glamorous appearance at the ceremony.

Maintaining her low-key display, the ITV star teamed her jumper with a pair of ankle-grazing jeans, tied in with white and gold trainers.

The media personality carried her essentials in a plain black handbag after travelling from the ITV Studios in south east London to film This Morning.

Looking as radiant ever, the blonde wore her shoulder-length tresses in its natural state and complemented her beauty with neutral-toned make-up.

A day earlier, Holly took a walk down memory lane as she posted a collage of all the glamorous ensembles she wore at the prestigious event from 2005 on Instagram.

The host displayed her changing fashion sense throughout the years before pointing out that she missed out on the ceremony in 2009, 2012 and 2015 when she welcomed her three children Harry, 10, Belle, eight, and Chester, five.

Hitting the glitzy red carpet for the first time in 2005, the much-loved star opted for vampy chic as the baby-faced star sported a strapless tulle dress to the event.

The face of This Morning has adopted a more sophisticated style over the years, switching from edgy numbers to billowing, floor-length gowns.

At last year’s event, she caught the eye as she slipped into a strappy pale pink ensemble, complete with a ruffled bodice and black polka dots.

Last year, Holly and Phil celebrated their win for Best Daytime in spectacular fashion, as they downed from a hip flask backstage.

It was a big night for Holly as she also took to the stage to accept the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, after standing for Ant McPartlin as he took a break from presenting duties.

Hundreds of famous faces and thousands of fans will gather at the arena for the star-studded extravaganza, presented for the first time by David Walliams, when the winners will be announced live.

It’s the biggest night in British broadcasting, aired live on ITV – and with the NTAs celebrating its silver anniversary year, there are even more surprises than usual in store.

In February,  Dermot O’ Leary announced that he would be stepping down after 10 years presenting the show, having himself taken over from Sir Trevor McDonald.

The most hotly contested category is Drama, which will see Killing Eve, Peaky Blinders, Line Of Duty, Call The Midwife and Casualty go head-to-head for the top prize.

Line Of Duty left viewers gripped in the spring when it returned with its fifth series, while Killing Eve has also been praised by fans despite the departure of showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Gentleman Jack – which was praised by viewers for Suranne Jones’ performance as  the 19th Century lesbian Anne Lister – has been nominated for Best New Drama against Chernobyl, A Confession, Cleaning Up and The Capture.

Chernobyl has also been acclaimed as one of the greatest TV shows in history, and won big at the Golden Globes on Sunday by scooping Best Limited Series or TV Movie.

Many of these show’s stars are also set to battle it out in Serial Drama Performance, which consists of Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), Idris Elba (Luther), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Suranne Jones (Gentleman Jack) and Michael Stevenson (Casualty).

Peaky Blinders has continued to be a huge success with its fifth series earning the show’s highest ratings ever, and writer Stephen Knight has already confirmed that production is underway for series six.
