A home cook has revealed how she made simple taco shells in the popular Kmart pie maker – and you only need one ingredient.

The Australian woman said she made the taco shells by cooking Parmesan cheese in the $29 family-sized kitchen device.

‘Following my post for Keto “cheese crackers” in the four hole Kmart Pie Maker; I present to you, cheese taco shells in the family Kmart Pie Maker,’ the woman wrote on Facebook.

The recent post has received more than 300 likes so far and numerous comments, with many praising the woman’s creativity

‘Simply add a shallow amount of Parmesan cheese, cook until almost at burning point, flip and cook for a further minute, and then place over rolling pin until it cools and goes crunchy.’

The recent post has received more than 300 likes so far and numerous comments, with many praising the woman’s creativity.

‘Oh wow, my son would eat them just like that,’ one woman said.

The idea is also perfect for those who are limited to a gluten-free diet and can’t eat ordinary tacos from the supermarket.

While some were impressed the simple recipe, others questioned it and asked if the woman included any other ingredients prior to cooking.

‘There must be more to this recipe,’ one said, and another added: ‘Can you fill them easily or do they break? They look so yummy.’

Despite the mixed responses, majority of those who interacted with the post mentioned they are going to give the recipe a go for themselves.

This isn’t the first time the Kmart pie maker has been used to put together budget-friendly meals either.

When the product was released in April 2018, smart mums everywhere were keen to reveal the many exciting uses they’d discovered for the $29 appliance from the budget Australian retailer. 

Others have shared how the device can be used to make a variety of elaborate meals – from Portobello mushrooms to dim sim and potato gratin.
