How to DOUBLE your annual leave next year by using this simple but VERY effective holiday hack 

Australians can more than double their annual leave with a simple holiday hack.

Workers can get up to 48 days off without going over the 20-day limit by strategically booking time away when public holidays meet weekends in 2021.

Holidaymakers can get ten days off between Christmas Day and January 3 while only taking three days of leave between December 29 and 31.

The remaining seven days are either weekends or public holidays.

A nine-day getaway can also be taken between January 23 and 31 around Australia Day, while only using four days of annual leave from January 25 to 29.

In April, employees can take a ten-day break between the 2nd and the 11th by booking four days off around Easter between April 6 and 9. 

Another nine days off can be taken at the end of April between the 24th and May 2 due to ANZAC Day, while only taking four days between April 27 and 30 of leave.

Victorians can make the most of the 2021 AFL Grand Final Friday holiday. The date will be set once the football season starts, but it will be in September or October. 

Australians spend ten per cent longer at their desks than workers in the UK and Germany, news.com.au reported.

About 13 per cent of employees in cities, such as Melbourne and Sydney, work more than 48 hours per week.

HOW TO DOUBLE YOUR ANNUAL LEAVE IN 2021

– Christmas and New Year:  Book three days off between December 29 and 31 for ten days off. The remaining seven days are either weekends or public holidays.

– Australia Day: Book four days off between January 25 and 29 for a nine-day break.

– Easter: Take four days off between April 6 and 9 for a ten-day holiday.

– Anzac Day: Book four days off from April 27 and 30 to get a nine-day break.

– Christmas and New Year 2022: Take three days of annual leave on December 29 to 21 to enjoy a ten-day break.
