How to get a new bathroom in ONE HOUR: Mum transforms her ‘horrible’ vanity for under $100 – as she reveals how you can too

  • A mother revealed how a $12.99 spray paint from Bunnings helped her bathroom
  • She also bought a new sink reduced to just $35 in the hardware store
  • The woman said she and her partner don’t have time and money for a revamp
  • But she said anyone can transform a ‘horrible’ space with just an hour of time

A mother has revealed how a $12.99 spray paint from Bunnings Warehouse has helped to transform the look and feel of her ‘horrible creamy pink-coloured vanity’ in her bathroom.

While the Australian woman said she has been meaning to ‘deal’ with the bathroom for years, because she knew she had ‘no time or money’ to rip it out and install a new one, she knew she was going to have to do something cheaper and quicker.

Posting on Facebook, the woman explained that she decided to ‘give the Rust-Oleum ultra cover spray cans a go’.

‘Very very pleased with the end result and we only used 1.5 cans,’ she wrote.

One can of the Rust-Oleum Gloss Ultra Cover 2X Spray Paint in Dark Gray costs $12.99 and the woman said she bought two of them for $25.98.

According to Bunnings, the paint is suitable for all surfaces.

It adheres to wood, metal, wicker, plastic and more and will dry quickly, with an angled spray to help you get to hard-to-reach areas.

The woman said she left the doors on when she spray painted them, and merely put down a drop sheet to catch any leftover spray.

‘Scored a total bargain too and got the exact same sink in white at Bunnings reduced to $35 because the box was ripped,’ she said.

‘My husband was more than excited when he got to pull out our old cream one.’

She said that the next step will be to get a white tile paint, so they can tackle their wall tiles.

People online were impressed with the woman’s bathroom transformation, which took her just one hour and cost less than $100.

‘This is a great job, there’s a big difference,’ one posted.

‘Looks wonderful, you would not know it is the same vanity,’ another added.

Some commented on how different they thought the handles on the cupboard look, now that the cabinet is a darker colour.

‘They stand out more on the darker finish. Makes such a difference,’ one person posted.

Others said how much they love the Bunnings Rust-Oleum spray paint and how good it has been at transforming their own homes.
