‘I wanted so badly to be in the show!’ Actress Jane Hall reveals she put her new career in midwifery on hold to star in the final season of Wentworth

She’s set to star in the final season of Wentworth.

And on Saturday, Jane Hall revealed she has put her new career in midwifery on hold to join the prison drama because ‘she was a super fan.’

Speaking to the Herald Sun, the 48-year-old Neighbours star said: ‘I had to get this role, I wanted so badly to be in Wentworth.’

She continued: ‘I wrote “Thank you for this job” on a piece of paper every day until I got it.’

Jane, who played Rebecca Robinson for four on popular soap Neighbours, had just finished placement at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. 

‘The adrenaline I feel in when I’m in a room when a woman is giving birth is not unlike what we experience when we’re truly in the moment performing,’ she explained.

‘It requires a lot of passion and it’s very joyful, just like acting,’ she added.

Jane will play the character of Ann Reynolds, a general manager who is not afraid to punish the prisoners in the Australian drama.

Kate Box and Zoe Terakes are also set to star alongside Jane in the final season of the prison drama. 

Kate, who starred in drama series Les Norton, is set to play the character of Lou Kelly, who is a former top dog of Wentworth.

Zoe Terakes, who previously starred in The End, will play the trans character of Rebel ‘Reb’ Keane.  

Earlier this month, Foxtel confirmed that the upcoming ninth season of Wentworth will be the last. 

But the show won’t be wrapping on screens in a hurry, with the upcoming episodes being spread over the the next two years.
