Michelle beamed as she showed off her dress’ amazingly detailed wildlife scene, which featured a looming jaguar prowling near the hem of her skirt.

Her bright red lipstick and statement earrings further added to her standout look, while her brunette tresses were styled into loose curls.

While Imelda, 63, was equally glamorous in a quirky blue patterned blazer which she teamed with a pair of midnight blue wide-leg trousers.

A pair of suede heels completed her chic ensemble, while her honey-hued tresses were perfectly styled into a blow-dried hairdo.

The pair were joined on the red carpet by Jim Carter, 71, who plays butler Mr Carson, and Michael Engler, the film’s director.

Jim, who is married to Imelda, was his characteristically chipper self and dressed simply in a check blue suit.

The TV series, which aired on ITV from September 2010 until Christmas Day 2015, followed the lives of the aristocratic household during the early 20th century.

News of a potential sequel comes after leading star Hugh Bonneville told The Mirror he was open to the idea of a second film.

He said: ‘When we started filming, I thought this is going to be a nice full stop, but there is such an appetite for it, I can see it carrying on. I’d never say never!’

Hugh added that stepping out on the film set wasn’t that different to making the beloved British TV show, as it just felt like ‘a bigger table.’

And of returning to the characters in a feature-length setting, he said: ‘Here we all were eight years later. As we looked around the room there were grins of “can you believe we’re here again!”‘

Other guests at Saturday night’s red carpet appearance included Italian actresses Eliana Miglio, Catrinel Marlon and Caterina Balivo.
