Good Samaritan motorists have stopped to rush to the aid of a woman being allegedly assaulted in Far North Queensland.
A teen boy, 14, has since been charged over the alleged attempted rape in Cairns early Saturday morning.
Police allege the woman, 26, was walking along McLeod Street alone around 1.45am when she was confronted by an unknown teen.

Police alleged the teen grabbed the woman and assaulted her as she struggled and screamed for help.
Motorists passing by stopped to help the woman and called police.
‘After reviewing CCTV of the alleged offence, detectives conducted targeted patrols and identified the boy,’ a police statement read.

The boy was arrested early Monday morning.
He was charged with assault with intent to rape, attempted rape and sexual assault.
He was refused bail to appear in Cairns Children’s Court on Monday.
