She added that she was trolled by fans after the breakup, which left her in a dark place.

Nadia revealed:  ‘I was at the hardest point in my life and then to have articles written that weren’t true, and to have hundreds of hate [comments] on Instagram and the continual pounding… it was difficult’.

The designer says she is making sure her children Aston, four, and Henley, one, are supported emotionally through the split.

‘I want my boys to be aware of their feelings. And if they are feeling a certain way, they can show that feeling.

‘They are allowed to cry and allowed to come to me and say what’s happening,’ she told the magazine.

Nadia recently took part in an ‘ask me anything’ session on Instagram Stories and was asked how she was coping raising her children.

Nadia candidly confessed: ‘It’s hard. And I would be lying if I said it doesn’t feel very lonely at times.

‘You don’t have your person to share all their milestones, cute things they do, ups and downs, and deal with their tantrums etc’.

But there are upsides, she added, revealing: ‘The positive is, it is rewarding. I am also super lucky to have a supportive family’.
