Former Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone is due to become a father for the fourth time at the age of 89 with his wife Fabiana Flosi.

The billionaire will welcome his first son this summer despite already having five grandchildren.

Ecclestone will be 90 in October but German newspaper Blick reports that he will now give his three daughters a brother.

His eldest daughter Deborah, whom he had with his first wife Ivy Bamford, is 65-years-old.

He also had two further children second wife Slavica Radic, Tamara and Petra.

“Yes, it is due in the summer,” he said. “Hopefully he’ll learn to play backgammon soon!”

Ecclestone and Fabiana married in 2012 in Switzerland with the mother-to-be hoping her child doesn’t have a taste for speed.

“Like all parents we have only one wish: the child must be born healthy,” she said.

“Hopefully he will never express any interest in doing something in Formula 1!”

Ecclestone recently stepped away from Formula 1 in 2016 after Liberty Media took over the sport and replaced him with Chase Carey.

“As far as I know, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has long decided to leave Mercedes and join forces with Lawrence Stroll to buy Aston Martin,” Ecclestone told .

“The two have been traveling inseparably for two years like twins around the world.

“And you have to know about Toto: He was also one of the princes I mentioned, who only thought for themselves and not their employers.
