Pana Organic peanut butter is recalled nationwide amid fears it could spark an allergic reaction 

An urgent recall has been made for a popular peanut butter amid concerns for those with an allergy or intolerance of tree nuts.

Pana Organic has recalled its 200gram Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread due the presence of undeclared allergens.

‘The safety of our customers is our number one priority and as a company we will do everything we can do to ensure this,’ the notice states on the company website.

‘Any consumers who have a cashew or pistachio allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed.’

The affected products have a best before date of 05/02/2021.

The plant-based gluten-free spread is available for sale at IGA supermarkets, independent and speciality food retailers across Australia.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to cashews and pistachios is urged not consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
