Police have named the suspect in an active shooting at a Louisiana hospital and warned the public he is ‘armed and dangerous’ and may have fled the scene as SWAT teams search for the gunman inside.
Shreveport Police said they are hunting for 41-year-old Taniel Cole after one man was shot inside St. Mary’s Medical Center in Shreveport early Wednesday morning.
Hostage negotiators and a SWAT team are on the scene searching for the suspect but SPD Spokesperson Cpl. Angie Whilhite said there is a chance he could have already fled the scene.
Whilhite said the suspect has threatened to kill law enforcement and anyone else who ‘tries to stop him’.
She warned the public to stay away from the area and if they see Cole to call 911 and not approach him.
