Sarah Jessica Parker says she does NOT want Kim Cattrall back on And Just Like That… after their nasty feud: ‘There’s too much public history of feelings on her part’

It may have split opinions of die-hard Sex And The City fans, but the reimagined And Just Like That… has been a surprise hit that has left many viewers begging for a second season.

However, lead star Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she does not want Kim Cattrall to come back and reprise her role as Samantha Jones if they do return for more.

In a new interview with Variety, Parker, 56, was asked if she would be ‘OK’ if Cattrall, 65, was able to come back to the show if some ‘miracle were to happen,’ after their very public feud exploded back in 2018.

Proving the door is firmly shut to Cattrall, Parker responded: ‘I don’t think I would, because I think there’s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she’s shared.’

Adding: ‘I haven’t participated in or read articles, although people are inclined to let me know.’

‘We didn’t go to Kim for this, you know,’ Parker said. ‘After we didn’t do the movie and the studio couldn’t meet what she wanted to do, we have to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her.’

‘It didn’t fit into what was important or needed for us. There’s a very distinct line between Samantha and Kim,’ Parker continued.

‘Samantha’s not gone. Samantha’s present, and I think was handled with such respect and elegance. She wasn’t villainized. She was a human being who had feelings about a relationship, so I think we found a way to address it which was necessary and important for people that loved her.’

After years of rumors of in-fighting on set, the feud was exposed in 2018 when Cattrall unleashed a blistering attack on Parker in a tweet calling her ‘cruel.’

Parker had offered her co-star condolences when Cattrall’s brother died, but she snapped back at the actress: ‘You are not my friend’

The actress also shared a gossip article that painted SJP as a ‘mean girl’ who would hide behind a ‘nice girl persona.’

Cattrall’s dispute is said to have been over money, and the fact that Parker got paid more than the other stars, as she was a bona-fide movie star that was seen as the main attraction to the series at the beginning.

It seems showrunner Michael Patrick King and SJP are also on the same page.

He said recently, also to Variety: ‘No. Just like there was no thought that Kim would ever participate in And Just Like That, because she’s said what she had said.’

Adding: ‘The only place I participate in magical thinking is in fiction… Magically thinking, it’s great to have Samantha.’

But the writer/producer made his point clear saying: ‘I have no realistic expectation of Kim Cattrall ever appearing again.’

Cattrall has previously denied reports she turned down a third installment of the movie franchise because of her demands for more money.
