A department spokeswoman in February said the alleged behaviour was ‘unacceptable’ and the women involved were being offered support.

‘Allegations of this nature are extremely rare and do not reflect upon the vast majority of our staff, who would be disgusted by these allegations,’ the spokeswoman said at the time.

Astill has his bail continued on Friday. He’s had to surrender his passport and must report daily to Laurieton police station on NSW’s mid-north coast.
