The Countess of Wessex looked relaxed as she drove a horse and carriage in the grounds of Windsor Castle today.
Refusing to let a wet Autumnal morning stop her from enjoying the chilly outside, Sophie, 54, wrapped up warm in a brown coat and light blue jeans as she took to the reins.
The Queen’s daughter-in-law – who has two children Lady Louise Windsor, 15, and James, Viscount Severn, 11, with husband Prince Edward, 55 – completed her outfit with a pair of knee-high brown riding boots.
Sophie, who was joined by two aides, wore her blonde hair loose but added a hat and pair of gloves to keep her head warm.

Sophie and her daughter Lady Louise, who are both avid carriage drivers, competed in the Champagne Laurent-Perrier Meet of the British Driving Society in Berkshire in May this year.
The mother-of-two donned a navy ensemble with a fetching headpiece for the occasion, as she was photographed riding solo through the Windsor grounds.
Lady Louise was taught at a young age, and has inherited a love of carriage driving from her grandfather, Prince Philip.
It seems the Countess of Wessex has been enjoying some downtime in recent days – and was last pictured attending a royal engagement on October 2 – when she arrived at a hospital in Surrey.

Prior to that, the royal had a hectic few weeks and danced with refugees during a visit to the RefuSHE girls empowerment programme in Nairobi on 19 September.
As part of her association with the preventing sexual violence in conflict initiative (PSVI), she also met with the refugee girls from across East Africa, to learn more about refugee women and girls’ rights.
