Teenage girl is molested in broad daylight in a park as man, 49, is charged
A 13-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a 49-year-old man in broad daylight at a park in country NSW.
Two girls, aged 13 and 14, were at the park on Sharp Street in Cooma, about 115 kilometres south of Canberra, when they were approached by a man on Saturday about 5.30pm.
After a brief conversation, police allege the man began to sexually touch the younger girl and himself.
The man walked away and the girls told a relative who then reported it to police.
Officers from Monaro Police District went to the park and arrested the 49-year-old man.
The West Australian man was taken to Cooma Police Station and charged with intentionally sexually touch child, and intentionally do sexual act with child.
He appeared at Queanbeyan Local Court on Sunday where he was refused bail to reappear on Monday.
