‘I didn’t know there would be a whale on the boat’: Woman leaves scathing review for whale-watching tour after stranger on board claimed to be David Attenborough and mocked her weight

  • A Google user called Ella Cameron left a scathing review of West Coast Cruises
  • She joked that a fellow customer on the tour had told her she was overweight
  • The company took the review seriously and replied with an apology message

A woman has left a scathing online review of a whale watching company, claiming that a customer on board called her a whale.

A Google user under the name Ella Cameron left a one-star review of West Coast Cruises in Phillip Island, south of Melbourne’s CBD last month.

She said that a customer on the tour had come up to her pretending to be David Attenborough and told her she was overweight.

Her review read: ‘I can’t say this was a pleasant experience, whilst on tour for ‘whale watching’ I was approached by a man who introduced himself as David Attenborough and proceeded to say “I came out here to see the whales, didn’t know there would be one on the boat” and chuckled.

‘I was made to feel embarrassed and wanted to leave immediately. I do not think this man was David Attenborough.’

The review is clearly a joke – and the same user has left other fake reviews on Google.

But the company still decided to reply, apologising for the ‘discomfort’.

The response read: ‘Hi Ella, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I’m sorry to hear about your experience.

‘Please contact our office if you would like to discuss the incident further. We sincerely aplogise for any discomfort you experienced on board.

‘Our Captain and crew always make every effort to make sure you have an enjoyable time. Kind Regards, Wildlife Coast Cruises.’

Ella Cameron’s other fake reviews include one of the RSPCA in Britain in which she claimed a worker described her as a dog and then slept with her husband.
