Woman dies in horror smash between a truck and a car in busy Sydney interchange 

A woman has died in a horror crash between a car and truck in Sydney’s south.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Coward and Bourke streets in Mascot following the collision around 12.30pm on Wednesday.

A woman was trapped inside the car for a short time before being released but died at the scene.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and remain at the scene.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area as several roads in the area are closed.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
