Len explained that he’d been having a sort out in lockdown, adding: ‘I have found underpants older than Phillip!’

He went on: ‘Our lockdown has been fine – we’ve got a garden, we’ve had lovely weather, it’s been great!’

Despite not being involved in Strictly any longer, he was asked about whether the show will be returning this year amid the COVID-19 crisis.

‘I don’t know – I haven’t been told by the BBC. But I am convinced the BBC will make strictly work,’ he said.

‘This will all come to an end and we can all sit down and watch it as we used to with our children and grandparents. They’ll put [dancers] in hotels or test everyone daily…’

Phil chimed in, ‘That’s test everyone daily – not Tess Daly!’ referring to the show’s host.
